Gea Fardias Mu’min

Dr. Eng. Ir. Gea Fardias Mu’min is a faculty member at the Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). He earned his Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, with prior degrees in Mechanical Engineering from ITB. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong dedication to advancing sustainable energy systems, combustion science, and environmental technology.

His research spans transitional energy solutions, including biomass co-firing in coal-fired power plants and refuse-derived fuel processing. He has also contributed to studies on refrigeration energy efficiency, droplet dynamics in immiscible fluid systems, peat combustion, and particulate matter dispersion for air quality improvement

Gea has collaborated extensively with Indonesian power companies such as PLN Indonesia Power, PLN Nusantara Power, and Geo Dipa Energy, leading technical assessments, feasibility studies, and performance tests on renewable energy integration, geothermal systems, and emission control

His publication record includes high-impact journals and international conference proceedings, with notable works on biomass processing, droplet breakup under laser irradiation, and PM2.5 dispersion modeling.

Gea combines academic rigor and practical engineering expertise to support Indonesia’s energy transition and environmental sustainability.
